3/25/2025 0 Comments This Made Me Cry - In a Good WayI became a death doula after my grandmother died and a global pandemic changed life as we know it. I saw a lot of suffering and I wanted to be of service. ![]() I recently checked in with the families of clients from the end of last year to see how they are doing and let them know I often think of their person. Yes, doulas remember and grieve the loss of their clients. I also asked if any of these families would feel comfortable sharing a brief testimonial about their experience working with me. My hope is that the experiences of client’s loved ones can offer reassurance and guidance to others who are seeking compassionate support during tender times. This beautiful testimonial was shared by L, whose father was my client. He was the kind of person who asked if I knew any good death jokes and wanted me to tell them at his bedside. I collect death jokes in his memory, if you know any please hit reply to send them to me. An excerpt From L’s testimonial: Kasey was instrumental in guiding us through the entire process. She helped coordinate lodging, connected us with the appropriate physician, and provided invaluable emotional support. Kasey created a gentle and supportive space for my dad and our family to discuss our feelings and ensure that his wishes were fully respected. The emotional and spiritual support she provided not only helped my dad feel confident in his decision but also gave our family comfort, knowing that we were supporting his choice in the most loving way possible. … I am forever grateful for the role Kasey played in helping us navigate this incredibly difficult time. Her direct support allowed us to honor my dad’s wishes and ensured he was treated with the utmost respect. I highly recommend Kasey… Her experience, compassion, and dedication made all the difference for our family. ![]() And in honor of L’s Dad, I’m sharing a death joke with you all… I hope this message make you smile and perhaps will inspire you to let those who have supported you recently know how much their efforts mean to you. If you’d like to tell me a story about the amazing support you received from a friend, family member, or even someone providing a paid service I’d love to hear it. Email me. P.S.
