What is an end of life doula?An end of life doula accompanies a dying person and their loved ones through the sacred transition to end of life. Doulas are nonmedical helpers who provide provides companionship, comfort, education, and guidance to the dying and their loved ones. A doula can begin work when a person begins contemplating their death, when health declines, at the point where the person’s body is beginning its final breakdown, or even after a death to help loved ones in their grieving.

What do end of life doulas do?An end of life doula listens deeply to the concerns, fears, hopes, and life stories of the dying person and their loved ones to bring them peace at the end of life. The doula holds the space for the kind of dying experience that honors who the person is and has been in their life, and helps them live with purpose up to the final breath.

About MeKasey March is trained by the International End of Life Doula Association (INELDA) and provides open-hearted presence, support, and witness to the dying and their loved ones. She is passionate about help others to live their dying in the best way possible and provides workshops and events to promote end-of-life and grief literacy. Kasey also serves as a hospice volunteer and has pursued additional training in supporting those with dementia.
