This package is for people who want to focus on creating a vigil plan for the last days of life. The doula will also review the dying person and caregiver needs, do some life review work, and make sure everything is in place for the start of a vigil.

Summing Up & Planning with Remembrance Project

Traditional Vigil

This package is for people who want regular doula support and guidance through the last days of a dying person’s life. The doula will do some abbreviated vigil planning in the first visit or two. The doula will ensure that the wishes expressed by loved ones on behalf of the dying person are followed as closely as possible. The doula will provide emotional, physical, and informational support during the vigil. 

  • 20 Hours of Vigil Support & Guidance
    • Abbreviated Vigil Planning 
    • Emotional, Psychological, & Informational Support
    • Assistance with Practical Vigil Care
    • Respite for Caregivers
    • Extended Presence at the Time of Death & Afterwards
  • 1 Post-Death Visit (of up to 1.5 hours)

  • 1 Check-in Call after the Post Death Visit

Final Considerations
  • Packages are a place to begin discussion about working with a doula and can be customized to fit a client’s needs and budget.
  • For those packages that include pre- or post-vigil services, a client can purchase additional visits, if they feel that would be helpful. 
  • For those packages that have vigil services, a client can request extra blocks of time—in 2- or 3-hour shifts.
  • If a vigil takes much less time than anticipated, the doula may return a prorated portion of the package fee, after coming to agreement with the client about the appropriate amount.
